Alyssa Burella (Class of 2013)
Alyssa Burella graduated from Timber Creek High School in 2013. She was in the TCHS dance program during its inaugural year. She started dancing when she was four years old and studied gymnastics for three years. Her Freshman year of high school she joined the TCHS color guard and spun all four years; this is where she rediscovered how much she loved to dance. In color guard she was a four year finalist in the World Championships, which is a tremendous accomplishment. Alyssa also has a passion to sing and has been participating in talent shows ever since she was in Pre-k. She hopes to pursue her dream to sing. Alyssa enjoyed the TCHS dance class because it gave her a chance to do something she loved during the day. Alyssa defines dance as grace. She says it’s a chance to “let go and just live in the moment you’re in." One piece of advice Alyssa would like to give to the incoming THCS dancers is to never give up and to do all things with love. She wishes everyone luck and blessings.
KeiJan Martin (Class of 2014)
KeiJan Martin graduated from Timber Creek High School in 2014. She was a member of the school’s dance program from 2012 to her senior year in 2014. Martin has been dancing since the age of three, and competing since she was twelve. She has received multiple solo and group awards and recognitions at competitions such as Showstoppers and Primetime. In 2012 KeiJan was injured and almost quit her dancing career, but thanks to Mrs. Perry’s support, care and brand new program she never gave up. She is grateful for Mrs. Perry for giving her a reason to keep dancing and for the opportunity to make new friends. Martin is now a freshman at Florida State University majoring in Exercise Science, in the hopes of becoming a Physician Assistant. Her advice to the current and incoming TC dancers would be to live every day, loving every moment and to leave with absolutely no regrets.
