About NHSDANHSDA, or National Honors Society for the Dance Arts, is a program of the National Dance Education Organization, created to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance in public and private schools in K-12 education, dance studios, cultural/community centers, performing arts organizations, and post-secondary education.

MembershipTo become a member of NHSDA, you will need:
(Please complete in this order.) -A minimum of a 3.0 weighted G.P.A. -To have earned participation points (at least 30) {1. Read the rubric for induction points which is on Canvas. 2. Fill out and submit the LOG form to Mrs. Perry via e-mail.} A LOG to download is below. (Generally, this means you are in at least Tech 3 or 4. If you are in Tech 2 and feel you have already met the criteria, let Mrs. Perry know.) -Demonstration of character (attendance, participation, collaborative teamwork, motivation, and leadership) {To be determined by Mrs. Perry} |
InductionsInduction ceremonies will take place in April each year. It is important that all wishing to apply for membership make sure they submit all necessary items by the due dates to be considered. More information about our ceremony for this year will be announced by the officers and in class by Mrs. Perry.

Honor CordsTo receive an honor cord as an NHSDA member, graduating seniors must:
-Be active in the program for a minimum of two years. Attend monthly meetings as well. -Be inducted into NHSDA. -Receive an A average their senior year in their dance class. -Not have any discipline issues with administration. -Maintain a minimum of a 3.0 G.P.A. -Complete a minimum of 10 participation points each year. -Maintain a proper demonstration of character. -Professionalism/Participation grades are A's. (No more than 5 “not dressed properly", No more than 3 unexcused absences, etc. per school year.) |
